Mandate

• Facilitate, develop and support the act of Christian Worship as a central activity of Bloor Street United Church.

• Support activities that provide pastoral care to individuals (members, adherents and visitors) of the congregation of Bloor Street United Church.

Activities and Responsibilities

• Review the worship services, providing insight and feedback, and input into the planning of worship.

• Provide reflection on worship as well as the function of worship.

• Provide a vehicle for input / feedback from and to the congregation.

• Provide support to the people who facilitate worship namely: the greeters, the flower convenors, the communion organizers, the readers and prayer leaders.

• Provide support and encouragement to the sub-committees of the worship committee, namely: the Music Sub-committee and the Arts Sub-committee

• Oversee the pastoral care programs of the congregation.

• Oversee the welcoming of visitors and new members specially at coffee time following the worship service.

• Oversee the nursery staff and facilities.

• Maintain and review the congregation subscription list for the United Church Observer.

• Report regularly to the congregation about the pastoral care and community life activities.
